Wyboo Golf Club January Newsletter
Happy New Year to all! We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year, 2019! Wyboo Golf Club would like to thank everyone that attended our annual Christmas party on December 6th. Diane and Lori did a fantastic job with the food as everything was delicious. We would also like to thank everyone that contributed to the maintenance staff Christmas fund. They work very hard throughout the year for us.
Soon we will be receiving new merchandise for the spring season. We will be trying to line up some demo days for you as well. Remember, we will be competitive with any golf outlets on clubs. Give us the opportunity to quote you a price as we have accounts with all of the major club vendors. With the beginning of the year, it is a good idea to check your grips. We can order and install from a wide selection of grips.
As we get into winter, you will see the maintenance staff continuing with winter projects. Tree limb work, leaf removal and isolated cleaning. When the weather warms up some and everything dries out, we will be doing some cart path repair. A reminder that recently there were blue posts installed near the greens. These posts are to guide you to the cart path when you get to the post. This is to eliminate getting too close to the greens. Thank you for your help.
January is when we sign up for the annual driving range plan. The single membership is $115.00 and the family membership is $165.00. This is for unlimited use of hitting range balls throughout the year. We are asking for your cooperation and do not take the driving range bags with you. We appreciate this. We can also start to take fees for the GHIN handicap system. The fee is $25 per person and the deadline is March 15th.
Recently, various members have brought to our attention the need for more tee boxes on the golf course. This is a process that the golf course is unable to do based on various issues with maintenance, financial and other factors. To solve this concern, the golf course is going to put a disk at the beginning of each fairway other than par 3’s. You will then have a choice of hitting from a tee box or from this designated area. We will provide this yardage to the South Carolina Golf Association as they have informed us that they will calculate a slope and course rating from this distance for handicap purposes. The Mens and Ladies leagues will decide upon themselves what members will play from this teeing area on league days. This teeing forward procedure is being done nationwide and is known as the “Tee It Forward Initiative” that was started several years ago by the USGA & PGA of America. Wyboo Golf Club feels this is the best method for all golfers playing needs to ensure a pleasurable round of golf. Thank you.
18th – Tri County Seniors 10:00 Shotgun start Course open at 2:00
In closing, 2019 marks the 20th anniversary of Wyboo Golf Club. Throughout the year, we will have various events and promotions to commemorate this special year for Wyboo Golf Club. Wyboo Golf Club hopes that this will be a great year for all of us. Happy New Year!
