This is when we will have our annual Member Christmas Party. All merchandise will be marked down for you on this evening and there will be a good selection of merchandise on hand. There is plenty of time to order that special Christmas present for that special person! The time is 6:00 pm and the munchies and beverages will be on hand for your enjoyment. We look forward to seeing you on December 6th.
Please note the attached letter from Leo Gallagher about the Christmas Fund for our maintenance staff for their hard work throughout this year. Please show your appreciation for them through this fund.
Thank you and Merry Christmas
On October 25th, we had a Couples event. The winners were Tony and Mary Jantovsky with a score of 29. Finishing second was Bill and Connie Houser with a 31. Congratulations and thank you to everyone that played.
The overseeding process is complete and it looks like everything has turned out well. Soon winter projects will start to take place. We would like to thank you for your cooperation with the cart procedures during this process. We are looking forward to having the golf course nice and green through the winter.
In last month’s newsletter, I covered some of the rules changes starting in January 2019. I would like to go over some other rules changes that will apply.
- Now when a player’s ball hits his or her equipment the player incurs a one stroke penalty. New ruling is that there is no penalty for all accidental deflections including the above circumstance. The ball will be played as it lies.
- If a player moves his or her ball while searching for it there is a one stroke penalty and the ball is put back in the original spot. New rule is that there is no penalty for accidently moving a ball during search. The ball will always be replaced, if the exact spot is unknown, then the player will replace the ball on the estimated original spot.
- Current rule is that a player must announce his or her intention to lift a ball for various rules situations. New rule is that a player does NOT have to announce to competitors that the ball is going to be lifted. A player will be allowed to mark and lift the ball and proceed under the rule without needing first to announce this intention to another player or to give that person a chance to observe the process. The reason for this change is that the rules generally rely on the integrity of the player.
Next month’s newsletter, we will go over some more rules changes starting in 2019.
